Other Highlights
"We are using this crisis to reinvent the way this City provides services to our poor.
We are going to better connect help to the people who need it by creating 21 Family Source Centers located in our hardest-hit neighborhoods. Each year, this program will serve at least 50,000 people."
--Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, 2009 State of the City
On February 8, 2010, Mayor Villaraigosa celebrated the opening of all twenty-one Family Source Centers throughout Los Angeles.
Each center offers a variety of educational, family, child and youth services including financial counseling and tax preparation, ESL classes, food distribution, and disaster preparation training. The centers are also available for community meetings, special events and volunteer opportunities.
Please contact the center in your neighborhood for a list of current services, programs and events.
