On July 20, 2009, Mayor Villaraigosa joined Cyril Drabinsky, President and CEO of Deluxe Entertainment Services Group, Ron O. Perelman, Chairman of the Board and CEO of MacAndrews and Forbes Holding, the parent company of Deluxe, and approximately 300 prominent guests from the entertainment industry for the grand opening of Deluxe’s expanded 152,000 sq. ft. campus in Hollywood.

This new state-of-the art Bud Stone Building houses three screening theaters as well as extensive additional film and administrative services.  Working with Deluxe to facilitate the expansion of Deluxe’s operation in Hollywood is an important step forward in the Mayor’s commitment to business retention and job growth in the entertainment sector.  Deluxe has 500 employees in Hollywood, over 2,100 employees in Southern California and 4,200 employees world wide.  Entertainment is the signature industry in the greater Los Angeles economy and accounts for over 260,000 jobs.

Mayor Villaraigosa also used the occasion to talk with Bill Bevins, President of Panavision, another McAndrews and Forbes company, and Ron Perelman about the importance of keeping and growing Panavision in the City of Los Angeles.  Mayor Villaraigosa finished the evening by having dinner with Messrs. Perelman, Drabinsky, Bevins, and Governor Schwarznegger.
